It's hot! Damned hot!
Two days ago was what I call a fan-oven day. This is when you are cycling into town around two or three o'clock (because that's when my classes are) and it is very hot. Not just ordinary very hot, but very hot with a breeze. Usually a breeze is good to cool you down if you are cycling but this breeze is so hot it really feels like there is a fan oven right in front of you with its door wide open and you are doing your best to cycle inside it.
The other fun thing is trying to get accurate info on UV levels. Actually, it's not that much fun because they invariably just max out the scale, though I do like one site that has a 0-12 scale and regularly gives 14 or 15 for Vientiane!
The news tells me that there is a heatwave expected in Ireland and the UK, so no doubt you will have your own stories. And, after all, it is a bit pathetic to move to a semi-tropical country and then
complain about the heat!
